Yellow Bikini Bottom
Do not be surprised if you simply ask for a yellow bikini bottom, and the sales attendant asks back, “boy legs or thongs?” The scene would look funnier still if you finally go for a particular type of bathing suit and are met with, “pastel, marigold, or metallic?” Bottoms come in a variety of cuts, styles, and fabric that shopping for one can be very confusing. Even women with the most coveted figures and shopping acumen may find it a challenge. There are several things to consider when buying swimsuit separates: your body type, skin tone, and the types of tops you already own.
The most common types of bottoms are string bikinis, because they look good on almost any body type. They are called as such simply because they have strings as waistbands. They may be tied on both sides of the hip, on one side, or it may have a piece of string sewn on both sides to connect the front and back pouch. Another type is the thong, which is skimpier than string bikinis. It may come in t-back, g-string, or v-string. As this type has a scanty backside, this would work best for women who are well-toned and gutsy. For the more modest, boy legs may do the trick. They ride low on the hips and are cut low on the thighs. While they may look great on those with athletic builds, they can make a petite frame look even shorter.
Getting a good match for your bottom
These days, swimwear is not simply plain or printed. You can find sequins, belts, and rings as embellishments. Some bikinis are even made from crocheted material. If you are buying a bottom as a separate item, make sure that it complements tops that you already own. Otherwise, you might not be able to wear it for an immediate beach trip or you would end up spending more by buying another piece. Although color mismatch have been a trend for sometime, only a few seem to be able to carry the look off. If you do not think that you can get away with the mismatched retro look, stick to monotones. If you have a marigold-colored bottom, you can use a top in a paler shade of yellow. However, if you have a heavier bottom frame, never wear a bright-colored bottom with a darker top, unless you want to resemble a light bulb.
